High-performance inkjet printer PrintJet CONNECT receives innovation award from German Design Council
Detmold, 18 May 2021. Weidmüller, the Detmold-based electrical engineering company, is delighted to announce that the German Design Council has today presented the company with the coveted "German Innovation Award" for the PrintJet CONNECT. This is the second time in a row that Weidmüller has won the prestigious award, and with the successful defence of its title, it is underlining its claim to be an innovation driver and pioneer.
The PrintJet CONNECT is an industrial printer for marking and labelling and is precisely geared towards the requirements of industry and electrical panel building. "In addition to the feedback from our customers, the award is a wonderful confirmation for us and shows that we have hit the right nerve with the product and its unique overall package", Dr Sebastian Durst, Head of the Cabinet Products division, expresses his delight. The high-performance inkjet printer combines the use of the Industrial Internet of Things, including automatic adjustment and preheating for a better print image, with permanent monitoring of the operating parameters and the possibility of remote maintenance. Downtimes are thus minimised and on-site maintenance visits avoided.
"Our PrintJet CONNECT is a true all-rounder and is used wherever industrialgrade markings with a consistently perfect print result are required, whether in machinery and plant engineering, process technology, traffic engineering, building systems and technology or renewable energies", explains Sune Mellgren, Head of Business Unit Workplace Solutions.
The German Innovation Award honours cross-sector products and solutions that distinguish themselves primarily through user-centricity and added value compared to previous solutions, thus making great achievements visible to a broad audience. The independent and objective jury – consisting of representatives from business, design and science – chose the "PrintJet Press Release 2 CONNECT" as the winner in the "Machines & Engineering" category of the "Excellence in Business to Business" competition.
